The University of Glasgow School of Law Jessup Team, consisting of Rhea Abraham, Jessie Campbell, Euan Livingston, Harry O’Connor and Finn Thomson, made it all the way to the Octofinals of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition International Rounds.
They came 8th of 164 teams in the preliminary rounds in Washington, qualifying directly for the round of 32, and losing to the eventual finalist, Ateneo de Manila University.
Harry O’Connor won a Ved P. Nanda Award for 10th Best Oralist out of 547 speakers.
Building on last year’s success at the International Rounds, the team ranked in the top 16 of over 800 registered teams, which is a magnificent achievement.
The team and the coaches, GCILS Fellows Dr Matina Papadaki, Dr Joseph Crampin and Professor James Devaney, would like to thank those that supported the team financially including the Faculty of Advocates, The Law Society of Scotland, and anonymous donors. And thanks to International Law Students Association, Michael Peil Christopher Bonnez J.D. and everyone involved in making Jessup 2026 such a success.
