On 6-7 March, GCILS director Professor Christian Tams will co-host this year’s Frankfurt Investment Law Workshop 2020.

The Workshop has been held annually, since 2010, and since has established itself as a forum to discuss fundamental challenges to investment law. This year’s workshop brings together practitioners and academics to take stock of the interaction between international investment law and human rights.

Participants discussed how the two legal regimes relate to each other, whether investment law a threat to human rights or rather facilitates human rights compliance, and to what extent human rights matter in investment arbitration.
