Disarmament from the Margins is on show at Glasgow Caledonian University. It draws on the Scottish CND archive held at GCU as well as on oral histories and local archives from across Scotland. Stories range across time from recounting women’s leadership in Glasgow’s 1915 rent strikes and anti-war activism during the First World War to the peace camp against nuclear weapons at Faslane.
Each of the stories highlights the connections between local campaigns and global movements, prompting us to rethink assumptions about Scottish history and Scotland’s contributions to international law and politics. The exhibition is curated by GCILS Fellow and Professor of International Law, Charlie Peevers, among others.
